My father's name is Elmer Elevator. This book seems that Elmer's son has written this.

When Elmer was little boy, he ran into an alley cat in the street. The cat was so poor and looked hungry that Elmer decided to take her home.

He promissed the cat to have some milk and a seat near warm furnace. 

But when they go to home, his mother refused to feed her. Mother thought if they fed the stray cat, they had to feed all the strays and she didn't want to.

When Elmer gave some food the cat without her permission, she whipped him and threw the stray cat away to the street.

Elmer apologized the cat and he told his dream to the cat. His dream was to fly the sky with his airplane when he grew up. By the time the cat heard the dream, she said that he didn't need to wait until he grew up and his dream would come true right now if he did some work.

She told the story about a dragon in the Wild Island when she was young and traveling the island. 

The Wild Island was splitted by two because a big river crossed the island vertically. Since the fierce crocodiles lived in the river, the animals in the island couldn't cross the river. They had to walk around the river to reach to the otherside, but they were so lazy that to cross the river was too difficult.

One day a baby dragon fell from a low cloud and he hurted his wings. The wild animals in the island trapped the baby dragon and tied to a pole.

So they made him to carry the animals, heavy loads which was too heavy to the baby dragon.

If Elmer rescued the dragon, the dragon sure to make him fly to the sky.

Elmer promissed the cat he would rescue the baby dragon 'cause he felt so sorry for the dragon.

He bought chewing gum, two dozen pink lollipops, a package of rubber bands, black rubber boots, a compass, a toothbrush and a tube of tooth paste, six magnifying glasses, a very sharp jackknife, a comb and a hairbrush, seven hair ribbons of different colors, an empty grain bag with a label saying “Cranberry,” some clean clothes, and enough food to last him while he was on the ship.

When the day came the ship to the Cranberry leave, he sneaked into the ship when the cat caught attention of the guard.

He hided in the empty grain bag with a label saying "Cranberry" which he prepared. When the ship arrived at the port of Cranberry, the crews threw him with the other grain bags down to the port.

Cranberry was in the island of Tangerina. Tangerine trees were everywhere in the island. So Elmer picked tangerines as many as he could in his knapsack.

He crossed the "Ocean Rocks" which was only way to the Wild Island in the midnight. The alley cat told him to not to cross the Ocean Rocks because there were coast gaurds in the days.

When he got to the wild island, he decided to walk in the night and sleep in the day to avoid the wild animals. When he was crawling along the bushes, he found two boars were talking to each other about a invader. The boars noticed an invasion because they found peels of tangerines in the jungle. The boars were crazy about invasion and they were struggling to find the invader.

Elmer ran into seven tigers in the forest. They said they're hungry and they'd like to eat him. Elmer suggested them to give chewning gum which was very scarce in the island. While the tigers were chewing the gums, Elmer ran away from them.

Then Elmer felt thirsty, and he went into the pool. All of a sudden, a rhinoceros appeared and said that this was his own weeping pool and whoever went into his weeping pool he would drown. Elmer asked why was this weeping pool. The weeping pool was where the rhinoceros wept because his only proud tusk had gray from white. Elmer gave him a toothpaste and a toothbrush. And when the rhinoceros was crazy about cleaning his tusk, he escaped from the rhinoceros.

The next time, he met a lion who was very upset of his messy mane. The lion threatened Elmer to eat him. So Elmer gave him a hair brush, ribbons and comb. When the lion was satisfied with his tidy mane, Elme went on to the river.

When he got to the river, a enormous gorilla jumped down at the foot of Elmer. By the time the gorilla twist his arms, the gorilla suddenly dropped him and scratched his chest crazy. He felt itchy in his chest and called a number of monkeys and demanded to find fleas. But the monkeys couldn't find the fleas because the fleas were very tiny and too difficult to see. So Elmer gave them five magnifying glasses. While they were finding fleas with the glasses, Elmer arrived at the river bank.

Elmer found the crocodiles in the river. The crocodiles said they were hungry and craving for some sweets. Elmer suggested some lollipops to the crocodiles.

Since lollipops melt in the water, he put a lollipop in the bank. while the first crocodile licked the lollipop, he tied the second lollipop with rubber band to the tail of the crocodile. And the second crocodile licked the lollipop and then he tied the third lollipop to the tail of the crocodile. And he continued until he finally got to the other side of the river.

When the baby dragon saw him, he realized Elmer had come to rescue him. The dragon was very pleased with joy.

At that time, all the wild animals in the island got to the river and got very angry. They shouted and said they'd never forgive him and kill at once. They got on the bridge of the crocodiles and ran to the other side of the river. 

By the time all the animals were on the bridge of the crocodiles, the first crocodile finished his lollipop and went back to the river. The second crocodile was not yet finished his lollipop, so he followed the first one. So did the third one and the fourth one. Finally the bridge of the crocodiles was not a bridge to the other side anymore and the crocodiles were in line in the middle of the river.

Elmer cut the very thick rope on the neck of the dragon. And he rode on the neck of the dragon. The dragon fled to the sky and went to the island of tangerian.

The crocodiles were very happy with their lollipops and the feast on their back.
